Star Child Explore Learning is privately run and provides educational Play Centre and Supplementary Tuition for children from 3 months to 18 years. It operates from East Legon Hills in Accra Ghana. The accommodation is on the ground floor and big enough for the children to be grouped together according to their ages.

We operate a Key Worker system. Each age group has dedicated equipment and qualified staffs that focus solely on the needs of the children in that group. The staffs provide focused, specific and dedicated care and activities for each of the children in their care.

Star Child Explore Learning Centre has a uniform policy for Staff and all children from 18mths –16 years of old wears the school uniform daily for their sessions. The centre provides the polo, skirt, trouser with belt, PE uniform, PE bag, bag and navy socks, all with the Centre’s badge. Parents are required to purchase all of the above from business office. The centre is highly committed to its uniform policy.

All the children share access to the secured outdoor play areas. Star Child Explore Learning is well secured for safety with CCTV camera; Entry phone system and safety lock doors. The accommodation is fully air conditioned. The outdoor area has a section with canopy to protect the children from direct sunlight when playing outside.

The children attending the Play Centre comes from a variety of social backgrounds, which reflects a rich mix of racial background in Accra, which we greatly value and respect. The Play Centre is equipped to provide a varied range of toys and activities that reflects the cultural diversity of the Community. Great emphasis is placed on the continuity of care from home to the Play Centre.

Our staffs are dedicated to the Play Centre’s Policies and Philosophies contained in our Equality of Opportunity Policy regarding race, class, gender and religion; and this ethos permeates the provision we offer the children, our recruitment and training of staff. In addition, Star Child Explore Learning is committed to monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring that the services we provide meet the needs of our users.

Parental involvement is seen as an integral part of the service we provide for the children. This includes developing and maintaining good parent/staff relationships, parents meetings, utilising the ideas and skills of parents/carers.

The child’s well being as an individual and as a member of a group is paramount at all times. The curriculum and activities provided are aimed at developing the “whole” child and to enable each child to meet their full potential in the physical, social, psychological and cultural sense. This is achieved through careful planning to maintain and/or develop health, nutrition, communication, and language skills, social, emotional and educational needs.
