The Children’s Loan Library at Star Child Explore Learning

We have Centre library from where the children can borrow one book per week. We feel this is an important part of a child’s life as it is this love of books and stories which develops into a love for reading at a later stage. Taking books home also encourages a link between home and the Centre. A member of staff from the child’s group would support the child in choosing a book or story tape which he/she would enjoy. We ask all our parents/carers to participate in sharing the storytelling experience with the child at home, by reading and sharing the book the child has chosen, as often as the child wanted it.
